CRBI is hosting a series of seminars that introduce the research topics currently pursued in the laboratories of the members of the centre. In this first round of seminars, the primary investigators will give overviews of their research interests.
Dr. Benchimol's research is directed at understanding how the p53 tumour suppressor protein regulates cell cycle progression and apoptosis, and at understanding the signalling pathways that control cell survival. He uses powerful methods, such as differential display and microarray analysis, to identify genes regulated by p53.
