CRBI is hosting a series of seminars that introduce the research topics currently pursued in the laboratories of the members of the centre. In this first round of seminars, the primary investigators will give overviews of their research interests.
Dr. Bayfield's research focuses on mechanisms in RNA metabolism and its effect on cellular processes and adaptations to stress. In particular he is interested in the La antigen, a protein that has been implicated in translational regulation, cancer progression, viral pathogenesis and as an RNA chaperone.
